At the Hawaii Chess Federation, our mission is to promote and grow chess in Hawaii, particularly for students in grades K-12. Help us meet our goal of keeping scholastic chess FREE for all students in Hawaii by making a donation today.

Our organization is managed 100% by a team of volunteers, so your donation will go directly to offset the costs of hosting chess-related events, including scholastic tournaments, open tournaments (all ages, youth through adult), the Hawaii Open State Championship held every fall, simultaneous exhibitions, online tournaments, and other events. Funds will also be used for maintaining adequate equipment and supplies (chess sets, clocks, printer supplies, etc.) and covering our marketing and administrative expenses (hosting our website, insurance, etc.). The Hawaii Chess Federation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, meaning all donations are tax deductible.

After exceeding our fundraising goal last year, we've delivered on our promise of making scholastic tournaments free for all K-12 students during the 2025-26 school year. In order to sustain this in future years, we're launching our next annual donation campaign, with a new fundraising goal of $15,000.
