November 8th Adult Blitz Tournament at Champs Hawaii

On Saturday, November 8th, the Hawaii Chess Federation hosted its third Adult Blitz Tournament at Champs Hawaii in Kaimuki. 24 players, ranging from casual and unrated players to seasoned tournament competitors, came out to enjoy good food, drinks, and 10 exciting games of 5-minute speed chess (G/5+2).

Top performers of the evening were Eric Mui (2061), who finished in first place with a score of 9.0 out of a possible 10 points, Beau Mueller (1848), who finished second with a score of 8.0, and Lloyd Kawamura (2072) and Nicholas Muschek (1742), who tied for third place with scores of 7.0 out of 10.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for the Hawaii chess community to connect, make new friends, and enjoy playing chess in person. This was the third 18+ blitz tournament HCF has hosted and it built off the success of the previous two events. We hope to continue to grow our offerings, and with the support of the community, increase the frequency of these tournaments in the future.
